Brian Hasler graduated from Indiana State University and has pursued a career in government, economic development, and marketing. Brian served as an aide to three Members of Congress: Lee Hamilton of Indiana, Bill Patman of Texas, and Frank McCloskey of Indiana where he worked as District Office Manager and later as the Director of Economic Development.

Brian also served under then Lt. Governor Frank O’Bannon as the Regulatory Ombudsman in the Indiana Department of Commerce. Brian served in the Indiana House of Representatives from 1996 through 2004 where he was Chairman of the House Technology, Research and Development Committee.

Brian’s successfully enacted legislation include:

  • the Evansville Airport Development Zone Act (enabling the community to attract new business development and expand employment);
  • tax incentives for intra-State air service (enabling Evansville, Fort Wayne, Gary and South Bend to resume daily flights to Indianapolis); and
  • the State Technology Advancement and Retention, or STAR, bill (serving as a blue print for expanding the use of technology in Indiana and for the retention of our best and brightest graduates).

Brian has been the recipient of numerous awards, including the Private Industry Council Legislative Award (1999), the Techpoint MIRA Trailblazer Award (2004), and the Indiana State Chamber of Commerce Government Leader of the Year Award (2004).
